Hopefully with the new move will come new inspiration and definitly looks like a better place to run. I will have a steady income which will help because now I can get the shoes I want and a watch so I can start the interval training like I want to do watch out 5 k I'm running for ya.

writing not my forte

So I will try to keep up writing more. I have been trying to be consistent in my workout but its been kind of hit or miss the past couple of days. I wont give up. i need to go back to curves too. I feel very scattered right now so much going on and needs to be done. It's all in God's hands and he will provide.

keep on keepin on

So the past few days I realized there are not whole lot of places around here to start seriously training to be a runner. I have however stepped up my game with what I have. I have been taking the dog around the complex twice every time we walk now and  I have been adding in a dip in the pool. Although I don't do serious laps i have been doing some and I have been stretching in the water. It has been nice. Hopefully I will be settled into a job here soon and then a new place to live and can get real serious. However, for now I am working on making sure that I will be ready to do that.

Just keep swimming swimming swimming.....

Ok so starting while on vacay didn't work as well as I hoped but  I did start. yesterday was first walk( soon to be run) day in H-town. walked with my friend Fran. We walked 1.25 miles in 30 min then I came home and walked the dog around the apartment complex twice. He was in doggie heaven. I then spent my day with my other friend Michelle and her two boys and two nieces. We had a blast. made me realize I really want kids not 4 kids but I do want to be a mommy. So all the more reason to get my self in shape and healthy. So when I finally get to adopt my baby girl I can keep us both healthy. Maybe even have a jogging stroller so we can run together. (clearly this is not going to be the case anytime soon but trust me it is motivational for me) I did not and probably won't go walking today because I am sick. Hopefully tomorrow though i will be back and ready.

Rest day

Well most of the running programs I've seen have beginners starting off at every other day at most and some only 3 days out of seven. So,  I don't feel bad about not walking today but tomorrow I will walk again. I did feel better today though. A little sore but not bad at all.

Walk before you run

So I went for my first run today. Really it was a walk  but hey you got to start somewhere. I was so ready to quit within 30 seconds of  starting. I knew it wouldn't be easy after all I am out of shape but my body protested a lot. I however did not stop and after about the first 5 to 10 min. was hurting but able to keep going though the hills small though they may be did make me reconsider. It should be interesting to see how walking(eventually running) in Houston instead of San Antonio will be. It will be flatter but hotter, more humid and more bugs(really that alone is reason enough to want to move to SA instead of H-town). Oh well.
I almost didn't make it out today at all. I was really sick to my stomach during the night and some of this morning but it eventually settled down and I've made a commitment and I am seeing it through. Tomorrow my aaunt maybe walking with me yay!!

motivation

"The will to win means nothing without the will to prepare."
-Juma Ikangaa, 1989 NYC Marathon winner

"In running, it doesn't matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say, 'I have finished.' There is a lot of satisfaction in that."
-Fred Lebow, New York City Marathon co-founde

"We run, not because we think it is doing us good, but because we enjoy it and cannot help ourselves...The more restricted our society and work become, the more necessary it will be to find some outlet for this craving for freedom. No one can say, 'You must not run faster than this, or jump higher than that.' The human spirit is indomitable."
-Sir Roger Bannister, first runner to run a sub-4 minute mile

"Ask yourself: 'Can I give more?'. The answer is usually: 'Yes'."
-Paul Tergat, Kenyan professional marathoner

"The miracle isn't that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start."
-John Bingham, running speaker and writer

"Don't bother just to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to be better than yourself."
-William Faulkner

"No one ever drowned in sweat."
-Author Unknown

"He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life."
- Muhammad Ali

"Many people shy away from hills. They make it easy on themselves, but that limits their improvement. The more you repeat something, the stronger you get."
- Joe Catalano

"Methinks that the moment my legs began to move, my thoughts began to flow."
- Henry David Thoreau
